Kristen R. Hermansen-Ryan, D.D.S., M.A.G.D.
Dr. Ryan is a Central City graduate, attended undergrad at UNL, and graduated with her dental degree from UNMC College of Dentistry. Since graduation, she has sought out continuing education to enhance the level of dentistry that she provides to patients. Dr. Ryan received her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2014, and then Mastership in July 2017. To have earned this honor, she has spent over 1100 hours in continuing education courses and has passed a rigorous exam. She has also studied with Progressive Orthodontics, Geneva Dental Institute of Sacramento, American Academy of Facial Esthetics, Spear Education, and the Misch Implant Institute.
Dr. Ryan and her husband, Nick, have three children and one other business, Prairie Creek Vineyards, just outside of Central City. You can catch Dr. Ryan waiting tables there on Friday nights. Dr. Ryan is involved in her community, serving on the Archer Credit Union Board of Directors, and previously served on the Merrick County Economic Development Corp. Board, and as a member and president of the CC Area Chamber of Commerce. She also is involved and sits on the UNMC College of Dentistry Alumni Association Board and the Dean's Advisory Council. She generally has little free time, but when she gets a chance, she likes to grab a good book and a cup of coffee. Her son says she makes the best cinnamon rolls in the whole wide world and she is someone to be reckoned with in a pumpkin carving contest.
Laurie has been delighting patients of our dental practice since April of 1990, serving in the capacity of Patient Care Coordinator. Laurie works with insurance, appointment scheduling, accounts, and sometimes you can catch her in the back working as a chairside dental assistant. Laurie brings an amazing wealth of knowledge to our team and works continuously to keep the office running smoothly for patients and staff.
Laurie grew up and graduated from Silver Creek. She has been married to Ed for over 30 years and they have two amazing granddaughters, Eva & Ruby. Eva & Ruby's parents Brad & Stephanie live in Omaha where Brad is a physical therapist. The girls' aunt Megan also lives in Omaha and manages Scooter’s Coffee.
Laurie loves outdoor projects, mission trips, bicycling, baking angel food cakes, and being a Grandma! She is a very involved volunteer at Nebraska’s annual Mission of Mercy projects every year.
Nancy joined our team with gratitude and excitement in April of 2013 as a Patient Care Coordinator.
Having been born and raised in Central City, Nancy has been a patient of the practice since Dr. Greving was practicing. When her husband, Miles, retired from the United States Air Force in 2007, she returned with her family to Central City and, once again, became patients of this fine clinic. Nancy says, “As a parent, nothing is better than having your children ask when the next time is that they can go to the Dentist!”
Besides raising three active children, she volunteers for a variety of organizations in Merrick County. From Relay For Life; Central City Area Chamber of Commerce and Merrick Arts Council to American Legion Auxiliary; Immanual Lutheran School and our Church, she feels it is a great pleasure to give back to the Community of where she grew up and was influenced by so many wonderful people!
Nancy is a nine year “Junk Jaunt Survivor” and enjoys hunting for treasures, with doors and windows being her favorite finds. She loves watching “American Pickers” and hopes to one day produce and star in her own show, “The Shifters” (because” I am so good at shifting all my treasures from one storage unit to the next”)!
Her other love is writing. When she and Miles were stationed in England, she became the proud owner of two Old English Sheepdogs and since began writing stories, “2 Dawgs Barking – the Continuing Adventures of Zed and Shadow”. The dogs were a part of her family for over 11 years and during that time they had many excellent adventures in the Air Force!
Wendy Botsch, RDH
Wendy has been in the Dental field for the past 14 years. Starting as an office manager, then dental assisting, while continuing her dental hygiene curriculum, she worked in Lincoln for Lincoln Periodontics before returning to her hometown and joining our team in July 2012.
Wendy enjoys being back in the community and reconnecting with familiar faces and new faces alike! She loves her profession and is passionate about hygiene.
Wendy is married to Dan Botsch who also comes from the small town farm near Leigh, Nebraska. Dan works for UPS and is an Auctioneer. They have two children, Clayton and Caleigh.
Wendy enjoys many things in life; but most importantly, time on her family farm with her parents and close friends. There is never a dull moment at the Botsch’s! Wendy loves what the outdoors offers – nature, gardening, and all her livestock. From horses and chickens to cats, dogs and 25+ head of cattle, Wendy enjoys what country living has to offer. In the summer she enjoys not only riding her horses, but motorcycle and jeeping, as well.
Wendy is always up for an adventure – she likes to go kayaking, horseback riding, play volleyball, shoot archery, junk jaunting, refurbishing antiques and shopping with her daughter. Wendy also loves a good Western movie and all the old outlaw country music you can drum up!
Chelsea Arendt, RDH
Chelsea Arendt is a 2014 Dental Hygiene graduate from Hastings CCC. Before obtaining her license as a Registered Dental Hygienist, Chelsea earned her degree in Dental Assisting in 2013 from CCC as well. She is passionate about dentistry and the connection she is able to make with her patients as she strives to provide the best care to each individual.
Chelsea is married to her high school sweet heart Jacob Arendt from Valentine, NE. They have one spunky daughter, Adalyn, and a son, Braxton. They live in Aurora where her husband works for Heritage Bank as a Relationship Manager.
Since she was a little girl, Chelsea knew she wanted to be a dental hygienist. She loves her job, but she enjoys spending time with her family most of all. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her friends, going on a long run, reading a book, or conquering one of her many “Pinterest” projects.
Chelsea doesn't routinely wear her wedding dress to work, but you may catch her brushing her teeth! =)
Tessa joined the practice in 2010 as a chairside dental assistant. Tessa completed the dental assisting program at Central Community College in Hastings, and has continued to expand her dental education through Progressive Orthodontic Seminars.
In the past, Tessa has worked in a variety of elderly care settings and has brought a passion for this work to our office. Outside of dental assisting, Tessa presents Geriatric Oral Hygiene Workshops in nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout the state. She is the best dental advocate any resident can have.
Tessa is married to a great guy, Kenny, and they live in Aurora. Tessa is a mover and a shaker! Her interests include writing music, playing volleyball & basketball, going to country music concerts, shopping, and traveling. She will beat you every time at a “who’s the music artist?” game. She and Kenny also like taking it easy and driving around to look at the crops.
Kimi Wegner, CDA
Kimi has been a dental assistant at our office since 2007. In 2011 we all cheered with her when she passed the exam to become a nationally certified dental assistant. She has expanded her dental knowledge through numerous classes including Progressive Orthodontic Seminars and Whitening Seminars. Kimi served on the Nebraska Dental Association’s Advisory Board and has volunteered her time at numerous Mission of Mercys.
Kimi has a very tight bond with her family and relishes time that she gets to spend with her 3 nieces. The office celebrated with Kimi when she married Zach Wegner in the spring of 2016. Kimi and Zach have two daughters, Olivia and Cady.
Outside of her time at our office you can find Kimi, well….. outside. She is an avid hunter, fisher, kayaker, tanker, tuber, racer, jeeper, and dog lover. Kimi teaches Hunter’s education at the CC sportsmans club, and is on a hobby stock race team in Duncan & Albion. In the fall, Kimi is a volunteer and participant in “Women in the Outdoors” sponsored by the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission. Ask to see her buck.
